On July 27 new Defence Attaché of the Czech Republic Colonel Romana Pešatová was accredited to Lithuania and outgoing Defence Attaché Lieutenant Colonel Tomáš Říman farewelled at a ceremony at the Ministry of National Defence.

A meeting was held at the Office of the Government to discuss the problems of operations involving rescue of drowning persons carried out on the coat of the Baltic Sea and inland water bodies.

The First Deputy Chancellor of the Government, Deividas Matulionis, has met with the outgoing Slovenian Ambassador to Lithuania, Robert Krmelj, who resided in Warsaw.

The Government approved the proposals by the Ministry of the Interior on improving the registration of administrative offenses by maximizing the automation as regards speeding offence detection, information procession, and issuance and sending out of process documents.

Minister of National Defence Raimundas Karoblis will meet with Minister of National Defence of Portugal José Azeredo Lopes and his delegation, including Chief of General Staff of the Portuguese Armed Forces Admiral Antonio Silva Ribeiro. On July 29 the guests will visit the Lithuanian Grand Duke Butigeidis Dragoon Battalion in Klaipėda and the Lithuanian Air Force Base in Šiauliai – on July 30.

On 26 July, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Neris Germanas met with the outgoing Ambassador of Slovenia to Lithuania Robert Krmelj, who resides in Warsaw.

Earlier this July the Ministry of National Defence and the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) signed a contract on infrastructure development projects of the Lithuanian Armed Forces which will significantly improve training conditions in Lithuania for both, Lithuanian and allied troops, when implemented.
