On 30 June 2018, the Seimas closed its 4th regular (spring) session, which began on 10 March 2018. During the session, the Parliament held more than 60 plenary sittings.

The Seimas has adopted the Law on Family Card and amendments to the Law on Local Self-Government, thus introducing the family card into the national system as from 1 July 2019. A total of 110 MPs voted in favour of the Law, with 1 MP voting against and 4 abstaining.

The Seimas adopted a new updated version of the Law on Civil Service (Draft No: XIII-1596 (3). It was adopted by 79 votes in favour, 9 votes against and 33 abstentions.

President Dalia Grybauskaitė met with President Sergio Mattarella of Italy who paid an official visit to Lithuania. The heads of state discussed key matters of the EU relevant to Lithuania and Italy, security situation and cooperation in NATO as well as strengthening bilateral economic, scientific and cultural relations. The President of Italy is accompanied by his daughter Laura Mattarella.

President Dalia Grybauskaitė met with chief Brexit negotiator of the European Union Michel Barnier and discussed the course of Brexit negotiations and their progress. At the meeting, the President also underscored Lithuania’s priorities in the negotiations on the withdrawal of the United Kingdom and on the new model of future relations between the U.K. and the EU.

On 27 June 2018, in Washington D.C., USA, Viktoras Pranckietis, Speaker of the Seimas, met with Paul Ryan, Speaker of the US House of Representatives.

Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite has signed the laws overhauling the country's tax system on July 2nd, adopted by the Seimas of Lithuania last Thursday.

The Seimas has approved amendments to Article 34 of the Law on Personal Income Tax (draft No XIII-779 (3) that provides for granting personal income tax to trade unions.
