“Lithuania and other countries in the Baltic region face direct military and hybrid threats. We are grateful to our allies for enhancing the security of our region by showing solidarity in joining the NATO Enhanced Forward Presence in the Baltic States and Poland,” said the Speaker of the Seimas.
The Bucharest Nine is a traditional multilateral format for discussing common security policy. It was initiated in 2015 by the leaders of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria.
