Good news for employers – more than 2 thousand young professionals freshly graduated from Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) have just entered the job market. On Friday, June 21 at Kaunas Žalgiris Arena the diplomas were issued to the 96th Graduating Class of bachelors, masters and doctors of science.

Vilnius University (VU) strengthened its ranking in QS World University Rankings 2020 by 30 positions and now holds 458th place worldwide. VU is also ranked the highest among other Lithuanian higher education institutions and is the only one to improve its stance in this year’s evaluation results.

The results of QS World University Rankings 2019 were announced today. Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) has kept a stable position and is among 800 best higher education institutions in the world.

On 3-7 June 2019 VGTU hosted the visit of Yosef Shavit, Director of the Bengis Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (Israel). This visit was supported by the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility programme project. This Centre has created unique innovation eco system and runs best acceleration program in the southern region of Israel, aimed at early-stage tech startups. As part of his role in the Center Yosef Shavit is the founder and CEO of Inno-Negev, BGU’s Technology Accelerator, founder of the Innovation Gateway technological hub, co-founder of 4 communities for developers and entrepreneurs, two international open innovation competitions and more. Beside his role at BGU, he is the owner of Yozma (Initiative) Consulting, a business consulting firm which has been delivering high-quality professional services since its foundation in 2005.

In the beginning of June, the results of U-Multirank 2019, the largest global university ranking came out. Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) has improved its results in 15 criteria out of 24. One of the best-ranked dimensions is internationality, where KTU improved its positions in 6 criteria.

A young researcher from Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), Lithuania – Domantas Didziapetris – created an artificial intelligence based solution for measuring the emotional climate in Manhattan Island, New York. After carrying out a sentiment analysis of over 36 thousand tweets, he created a scale which indicates how the residents and visitors rate emotional climate of the different Manhattan neighbourhoods.
