In the first week of April, the exhibition “Accepting the challenge – Sweden and the 2030 Agenda” was opened at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) Santaka Valley. The exhibition was organised by KTU and the Baltic University Programme (BUP) together with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden. The exhibition runs until April 26.

Earlier this month, Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) and Centric IT Solutions Lithuania signed a cooperation agreement. Four EUR 500 scholarships for the talented students of the Faculty of Informatics kick-started the official cooperation.

One of the mandatory subjects of MBA Entrepreneurship study programme of Business School, Vilnius University – study visit – had three directions this year: creative, social, and technological entrepreneurship. Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), Lithuanian Ministry of National Defence and Lithuanian Armed Forces are organising the first defence hackathon in Lithuania. The hackathon will take place on April 12–14 at the Lithuanian Duke Vaidotas Mechanized Infantry Battalion in Rukla. In the context of the growing digitalisation of the construction industry Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) has signed the Agreement of Cooperation with Riga Technical University and Tallinn University of Technology for joint development of the first unique Centre of Excellence for BIM Advancement in the Baltics.

Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) researchers are developing a smart wrist-worn device for monitoring of atrial fibrillation – a condition, which if left untreated can lead to serious health complications and even death.

The registration to the annual exhibition of inventions Technorama 2019 has already started. The international event is organised by Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) annually and attracts over 60 scientists from different universities and over 2,000 visitors. This May Technorama will be organised for the 18th time.

A team of experts in nuclear fusion and astronomy has computed high-accuracy atomic data for analyzing light from a kilonova, a birth place of heavy elements. They found that their new data set could predict kilonovae brightness with much better accuracy than before. This aids our understanding of the cosmic origins of heavy elements.
