INVL Baltic Real Estate, a company which invests in real estate, will acquire 6,500 square metres of commercial premises at the Vilnius Gates complex in the Lithuanian capital.

A new biofuel boiler house located in Vilnius and managed by energy company E Energija group has successfully undergone testing and tuning. The boiler house has become the first regulated independent heat producer in Lithuania's capital.

Seeking to implement the ruling of the Constitutional Court, the Ministry of Finance of Lithuania is changing the way how budget revenue of municipalities is established. Personal income tax (PIT) share allocated to a municipality will be calculated based on new criteria – the ratio of PIT per capita in a municipality compared to the average PIT per capita in Lithuania within the same period.

On September 28-29 Chief of Defence of Italy General Claudio Graziano made a formal visit to Lithuania at the invitation of Chief of Defence of Lithuania Lieutenant General Jonas Vytautas Žukas. On 29 September General C. Graziano met with Minister of National Defence Juozas Olekas, Chief of Defence Lieutenant General Jonas Vytautas Žukas, and representatives from the Ministry of National Defence, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Joint Staff of the Lithuanian Armed Forces.

On September 29 a contract on procuring PzH2000 self-propelled howitzers from the German Armed Forces will be signed at the Ministry of National Defence. The contract will be endorsed by MoD Director General for Capabilities and Armaments Colonel Darius Užkuraitis and Head of Armament Department of the Federal Ministry of Defence Wilfried Georg. Commander of the Logistics Command Colonel Sigitas Mundris will sign the contract on behalf of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, the recipient of the equipment. The contract will be endorsed in the presence of Minister of National Defence Juozas Olekas and Ambassador of Germany in Lithuania HE Jutta Schmitz.

On 22 September 2015, Lithuanian Minister of Environment Kestutis Treciokas opened a new exclusive sight – the tallest observation tower in a protected area. It is situated in the Labanoras Regional Park, close to Mindunai village. The height of the observation tower is 36 metres.

Construction works for the necessary military infrastructure for the installation of the new long-range radars contracted by the Lithuanian Armed Forces, begins at the 1st (Antaveršis village., Prienai district) and the 3rd (Degučiai village, Šilutė district) radar posts of the Lithuanian Air Force.

In 2014, the number of members of political parties increased by 1.1 percentage points and reached 115,400 in Lithuania.

As of summer 2016, Spanish low-cost airline Vueling will start carrying passengers from/to Barcelona to/from Vilnius. The airline will benefit from financial assistance offered by the aviation route incentive programme, created by the Lithuanian Airports.

Statistics Lithuania informs that, based on the 2014 Lithuanian Health Interview Survey, every second resident of Lithuania considers his/her health to be very good or good, 37% – fair, 13% – bad or very bad.
