After approximately six months of discussions, the Cabinet in Lithuania has finally opened the way to create a transport holding company that will group together Lithuania's state-controlled transport companies.

Lithuania has finished parking its border with Russia after the last state border marker was installed in the territory of Pagegiai Municipality near the new bridge of the River Nemunas.

Lithuania's unemployment rate stood at 8.4% in early December 2015, up by 0.1 percentage points compared with a month ago, but down by 0.4 points year-on-year, figures from the country's Labor Exchange showed on December 4th.

A high-level conference on inter-faith dialogue and the situation of Christians around the world takes place on Tuesday, at Parliament, organised by Antonio Tajani, vice-president of Parliament, and attended by President Martin Schulz. MEPs and experts from a number of countries will focus on the persecution of Christians around the globe and discuss specific proposals for action.

Norway and France next year will replace Russia and Poland on the list of priority markets where Lithuania will make the most active tourism marketing efforts, the business daily Verslo Zinios reported on Monday.
