Another reason that makes dairy producers to take on new investment projects is that part of their existing lines are adapted to manufacturing products that were in demand in Russia, but have no market in Western or Asian countries.
"All producers will invest. We had waited for the EU's new financing period for several years. We must modernize production. Otherwise, we will soon lose competitiveness," the paper quoted Dalius Trumpa, chairman of Rokiskio Suris, a leading dairy group, as saying.
He said that investments in new projects would amount to millions of euros, but did not elaborate.
