President Dalia Grybauskaitė extended congratulations to the President-elect of Georgia, Giorgi Margvelashvili.

President Dalia Grybauskaitė has departed for Brussels where she will attend a European Council meeting. The main focus of the meeting will be on one of Lithuania's EU Presidency priorities - progress towards completing the EU digital single market. European leaders will discuss how to promote innovations, advance electronic trading, improve business environment in the cyberspace and attract larger investments, as well as to foster digital skills of European citizens.

On Monday 21st October, Minister of Education and Science Dainius Pavalkis announced that graduates of schools (both with the Lithuanian teaching language and national minorities' schools) will take the unified matriculation exam of the Lithuanian language and literature. He declared it to journalists after leaving the office of the speaker of the Seimas Loreta Graužinienė.
