President Dalia Grybauskaitė met with President Sergio Mattarella of Italy who paid an official visit to Lithuania. The heads of state discussed key matters of the EU relevant to Lithuania and Italy, security situation and cooperation in NATO as well as strengthening bilateral economic, scientific and cultural relations. The President of Italy is accompanied by his daughter Laura Mattarella.

President Dalia Grybauskaitė met with chief Brexit negotiator of the European Union Michel Barnier and discussed the course of Brexit negotiations and their progress. At the meeting, the President also underscored Lithuania’s priorities in the negotiations on the withdrawal of the United Kingdom and on the new model of future relations between the U.K. and the EU.

Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite has signed the laws overhauling the country's tax system on July 2nd, adopted by the Seimas of Lithuania last Thursday.

The Seimas has approved amendments to Article 34 of the Law on Personal Income Tax (draft No XIII-779 (3) that provides for granting personal income tax to trade unions.

The Seimas ratified the agreement on Lithuania’s accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). If a major cyber incident strikes as soon as in the coming years, it would be responded to by an international cyber response force. A Declaration of Intent signed on development of the Lithuanian-initiated EU Cyber Rapid Response Force teams at a session of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg today has laid a foundation for that.
