PoliticsPresident Dalia Grybauskaitė delivered a keynote speech at a dinner held in honor of the Baltic States on the eve of the Westphalia Peace Prize ceremony. On 12 July, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius congratulated the new First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Interior of the Czech Republic Jan Hamáček, who will head the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The priorities of the Austrian Presidency of the EU Council of Ministers are being outlined to parliamentary committees by ministers, in a series of meetings. President Dalia Grybauskaitė together with other allied leaders agreed on joint measures that would significantly improve NATO's defense posture, including its ability to protect the eastern flank. On 10 July, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius congratulated Jeremy Hunt and wished him every success in his new responsibility as the new British Foreign Secretary. On 30 June 2018, the Seimas closed its 4th regular (spring) session, which began on 10 March 2018. During the session, the Parliament held more than 60 plenary sittings. The Seimas has adopted the Law on Family Card and amendments to the Law on Local Self-Government, thus introducing the family card into the national system as from 1 July 2019. A total of 110 MPs voted in favour of the Law, with 1 MP voting against and 4 abstaining. The Seimas adopted a new updated version of the Law on Civil Service (Draft No: XIII-1596 (3). It was adopted by 79 votes in favour, 9 votes against and 33 abstentions.
