Lithuanian basketball players started their preparations for European Basketball Championship. EuroBasket 2013 will be held this September in Slovenia. The Lithuanian team will spend a week of training in Palanga.

This Monday in Kazan, Russia, Lithuanian sportsmen participated in the canoe and kayak tournament. Lithuanians Jevgenijus Šuklinas and Ignas Navakauskas both won gold medals. Now Lithuania has six gold medals in total.

The draw for this summer's UEFA U19 tournament in Lithuania, to take place from the 20 July to the 1 August, gives the host team a great challenge and the chance to shine against some of the best in Europe. If Lithuania is to have a chance of making it to the semi-finals of the tournament, the team must embrace the challenge that such a difficult group provides.

During the last day of the World Lithuanian Games, it was decided that the next games - in 2017 - will be held in Kaunas.
