Group A
Lithuania, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain.
If Lithuania is to have a chance of making it to the semi-finals of the tournament, the team must embrace the challenge that such a difficult group provides. Every detail will count and any extra time spent practicing set pieces, or analyzing the opposition, can prove priceless during the competition.
All things considered, Lithuania's best chance is to collect points from the start and remember that tournaments at this level, even when hosting, are meant to further the development of football in Lithuania
Group B
France, Georgia, Serbia, Turkey
France has won the tournament twice in the last 10 years, and is certainly one of the strongest in Group B. During qualifiers, their team featured several players that have come through from the U17 squad. Turkey is also a very strong side, but their best U19 players are focusing on the FIFA U20 World Cup, which their country is hosting earlier in the summer. Georgia is perhaps a surprise qualifier. Despite having been a semi-finalist at U17 level in 2012, they did not use many of the players from that squad to qualify for this year's U19 tournament. Perhaps a sign that football is developing strongly in that nation.
