During the high jump final, 26 year old R. Stanys successfully finished with the result of 2,10 m. He managed to stay in the tournament until the mark of 2,25 m, however, this was an invinsible mark for the sportsman. All three attempts were unsuccessful, thus, R. Stanys stayed in the seventh place.

The tournament was more successful for the female 800m running professional E. Balčiūnaitė - she won a bronze medal. Her result was 1:59:82 seconds which was the best of the season. Balčiūnaitė was outrun by Margarita Mukaševa from Kazakhstan and by Jekaterina Kupina from Russia. Another Lithuanian runner N. Pliušina finished in the eight place.

Lithuanian swimmer G. Titenis will compete in the semifinal this Wednesday. Other Lithuanian swimmers Vaidotas Blažys and Mindaugas Sadauskas did not make it to the semifinal.
