Lithuanians winning gold at the Universiade

On Sunday, the universiade, taking place in Kazan, Russia, has reached its momentum. Lithuanian sportsmen started their performance as well in this athletics tournament.

Lithuanian rowers have already proven that they are the world's elite. This Monday, after the triumph of Rolandas Maščinskas and Saulius Ritteris, the same golden moment happened to Mindaugas Griškonis. A sportsman did not leave any hopes for his rivals - he finished the race in 7 minutes 18,32 seconds. The second place belongs to the Mexican sportsman Pattrick Loliger. On Sunday, the golden medals were won by Lithuanian female rowers - Donata Vištartaitė and Milda Valčiukaitė.

Also, on Sunday, in the male 100m running race, Rytis Sakalauskas reached the quaterfinals and even reached the best season result for Lithuania. The quaterfinals are about to happen this Monday.

Eglė Balčiūnaitė and Natalija Pliušina both made it to the semifinals in female 800 m running race. Lina Grinčikaitė in the 100 m running race won and made it to the semifinal.
