New rules plan to make it easier for consumers to buy energy-efficient household appliances by simplifying the current labelling system. They will be debated by MEPs on Monday 4 July and voted on Wednesday. The draft text calls for replacing the current scale with a far more transparent A to G system of presenting energy efficiency.
