On 30 June Vilnius University community gathered traditionally for "Finis Anni Academici” – the official closing ceremony of the academic year 2015/2016 at St John’s church.

On June 21, the 93rd graduation ceremony of Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) took place at Kaunas "Žalgirio" arena, where almost 2 300 thousand graduates, including 69 international students, received their diplomas.

International engineering summer school “VGTU-CalPoly‘2016“ for students from Lithuania and USA started at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University this week. The summer school is organised together with California Polytechnic State University (CalPoly) for four years already and it attracts more and more American students every year, who are coming to Lithuania to deepen the knowledge of structural mechanics and geodetic measurements together with VGTU students for five intensive weeks. This year there are 32 students from CalPoly studying together with students from VGTU.

If you make only 700 euros a month you cannot expect to live like a European”, says American Professor Victor De Munck, an anthropologist who has worked in the State University of New York and has conducted extensive research in Sri Lanka, Macedonia, Russia, Lithuania and the USA. Currently the scientist is working at Vytautas Magnus University (VMU): he conducts research at the Social Anthropology Department and teaches lectures to students of social anthropology. This field, he says, is one of the most vital ones today.

Demand for food is set to rise by 70% due to the global population growing to 9.6 billion by 2050. Feeding them all will be a serious challenge.
