On 19 April, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius received the new Rector of the European Humanities University (EHU), Prof. Sergei Ignatov. The meeting focused on the EHU’s further work.

Team of researchers at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), Lithuania are designing an innovative device, which will increase aircraft safety during takeoff. During the first 10 seconds of the takeoff roll, the device predicts if the aircraft will reach the sufficient speed for taking off. The idea behind the innovation can be adapted both for small aircraft and large jets.

Kaunas 2022 Contemporary Capital together with Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture and other partners is organising an International Summer School for students of architecture and heritage protection and professionals of these fields. The school is part of a wider series of events dedicated to the European Year of Cultural Heritage, 2018.

On 21 March 2018 the Department of Economics Engineering of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University signed a double degree agreement with School of Economics and Trade, Kyungpook National University (KNU, South Korea). Students willing to be awarded this type of diplomas should study at least two semesters in the partner institution. Group of researchers at Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania are developing new generation sponge-like wound dressings with hyaluronic acid. Antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory wound dressings stimulate tissue regeneration and can be especially efficient in treating deep wounds that are difficult to heal.

The demand for experts in aviation engineering is growing rapidly. “Given the trends and the speed as well as the extent to which aircraft depend on electronics, it is evident that there will be continued demand for avionics professionals,” says Karolis Čepukas, Kaunas Aircraft Maintenance (KAM) director in the interview published by InvestLithuania and KaunasIN.

Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), Lithuania has been granted the right to coordinate European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) Food Hub, which will promote innovations and entrepreneurship in the food science field. EIT Food Hub together with SMART Food cluster, uniting Lithuanian food industry exporters, is planning to expand its activities beyond Lithuania.
