On Monday, 2 April Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) Students’ Union is inviting Kaunas residents and city guests to join Bunny Race in Laisvės Avenue. The only requirement for the participants is to wear bunny costume, or just a part of it, say ears or a tail.

Centric, a Dutch IT company, is establishing a division in Kaunas and plans to employ 200 specialists over the next three years, agency Invest Lithuania reports. The core activities of the new branch will be technical engineering, managed services, infrastructure and cloud engineering. The Lithuanian team will work closely with international counterparts in the Benelux, Scandinavia and Romania and will also become part of the service desk teams that support our international customers.

As AI and smart technologies keep improving, people are increasingly faced with unexpected problems. Can intelligent robots have rights? How to ensure security of data online? These and other questions are explored in a new project by the scientists of Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) where experts of technologies, law and ethics have joined forces and plan cooperation with scientists in the USA and Europe.

Wastewater cleaning technology created at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), Lithuania efficiently cleans water from oil products leaving it virtually pollution-free (the concentration of oil discharge in treated water is about 0.2 mg/L). Given the efficiency, the technology is much cheaper than the alternatives currently known in the market.

Subject to urgency procedure, the Seimas adopted amendments to the Law on Higher Education and Research No.XIIIP-1485(3), thus providing for support opportunities for persons studying in higher education institutions outside the Republic of Lithuania. The new provisions, due to enter into force on 15 April, were adopted by 107 votes in favour, no votes against, and 2 abstentions.
