EU legislators reached a political agreement on Thursday on the 5 billion euro Brexit Adjustment Reserve, paving the way for a first payment by December.

On 17-18 June, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs holds the informal Midsummer Snow Meeting, which will bring Lithuanian and foreign security experts together to discuss challenges posed to the transatlantic community and responses to them.

At the NATO Summit, President Gitanas Nausėda together with President Egils Levits of Latvia and Prime Minister Kaja Kallas of Estonia had a talk with Joe Biden, President of the United States. During the conversation with the three Baltic leaders, the U.S. President expressed strong support and determination of the United States to contribute to reliable deterrence and defense in the context of increasing geopolitical tensions in the NATO’s Eastern Flank.

On the eve of the NATO Summit in Brussels, President Gitanas Nausėda met with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Turkey. At the meeting, security and defense issues in the Baltic Sea and in the Black Sea were discussed.

At the meeting with President Salome Zourabichvili of Georgia, while on an official visit in Georgia, President Gitanas Nausėda expressed support to the European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations, implementation of reforms and consolidation of democracy of this South Caucasian country.

On Thursday, Parliament adopted three resolutions on the human rights situation at the Spanish/Moroccan border, in Russia, and in Sri Lanka.

Parliament calls on the EU to punish those involved in forcing a plane to land in Minsk on 23 May and in the detention of journalist Raman Pratasevich.

President Gitanas Nausėda of Lithuania, President Egils Levits of Latvia, and Prime Minister Kaja Kallas of Estonia had a remote coordination meeting ahead of the NATO summit in Brussels on 14 June.
