The EU is following closely the reports about yesterday's developments related to Feza Media Group, including Zaman newspaper, and the ensuing police action.

On 4 March 2016, the Council added 16 people and 12 entities to the list of targets subject to EU restrictive measures against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

On Monday, March 7, President Dalia Grybauskaitė will travel to Brussels for a special European Council meeting to discuss how to stem migrant flows to Europe in cooperation with Turkey, preserve the functioning of the Schengen area and help EU countries confronted with the largest inflows of migrants. European leaders will meet with Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu in an effort to speed up the implementation of the EU-Turkey Action Plan agreed.

Today, the delegation under the leadership of Loreta Graužinienė, Speaker of the Seimas, visiting Japan had a meeting with Tadamori Oshima, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Diet of Japan.

During her official visit to Slovenia, President Dalia Grybauskaitė together with the Mayor of Ljubljana opened a photo exhibition dedicated to the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Slovenia. The exhibition "To Freedom. 1989–1991" showcases works by photographer Vytautas Daraškevičius depicting events of historic significance to Lithuania: the Baltic Way, March 11 and January 13.

On 26 February, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Andrius Krivas took part in the Lithuanian-Czech political consultations in Vilnius and coordinated positions on topical issues related to security policy, NATO and the EU with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jakub Kulhánek. The participants of the meeting also discussed the agenda of bilateral and regional cooperation.

At midnight the first cessation of hostilities in five years of war in Syria began, following the unanimous adoption of resolution 2268 by the UN Security Council.

EU migration ministers today agreed that everyone, including EU citizens, will be systematically checked at the EU's external borders. All member states will be obliged to check that no one entering or leaving the EU represents a threat to public order and security. The ministers reached agreement on the controls in Brussels today during a meeting chaired by the Netherlands Presidency.
