“It was with great shock that I and the people of Lithuania learned about the horrific attack in Orlando, Florida. I would like to express my deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims and to all the people of the United States,” reads the Minister’s letter.
Linkevičius also states, that the United States of America embodies the values of openness and tolerance, of human rights and liberties, regardless race, religion, or sexual orientation, and serves to many of us as an inspiration.
“No act of terror or hate can break this spirit of American life. Today the thoughts and prayers of Lithuanian people are with the families of the victims and with all those affected. We wish all the injured speedy recovery. Lithuania expresses her solidarity with the American people in this hour of sorrow, and reiterates her commitment to work with the United States and the free world in fighting terrorism in any shape, in any form,” the Minister stresses in his letter.
Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius has expressed condolences over the horrific attack that claimed five dozen lives and left many wounded in the city of Orlando, United States of America.
“We are shocked by the tragic events in the city of Orlando, Florida, having taken so many innocent lives. On behalf of the Government, I express deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims, trusting they find strength and courage to continue in this difficult hour of bereavement, also wishing unity and focus for the American nation”, reads the letter of the Head of Government.
