On Thursday, President Gitanas Nausėda participated in the European Council meeting in Brussels, during which EU leaders agreed on the launch of EU accession negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova and on the granting of EU candidate status to Georgia.

On Thursday, the European Parliament adopted three resolutions on the human rights situation in Belarus, Tanzania and Tibet.

On Monday, President Gitanas Nausėda is paying a working visit to Tallinn to participate in the annual meeting of the Presidents of the three Baltic States. The Presidents of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia discussed regional security and defense issues, support for Ukraine, and infrastructure development projects in the region.

Baltic unity is a natural part of the Nordic unity. We are pleased that in most cases we are able to achieve joint Nordic-Baltic votes in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).

On Tuesday, Chancellor Giedrė Balčytytė met with the outgoing Australian Ambassador to Lithuania, Poland and the Czech Republic, Lloyd Brodrick. During the meeting at the Government House, G. Balčytytė thanked the Ambassador for his personal contribution to the strengthening of bilateral relations between Lithuania and Australia, the like-minded partners. They also discussed the increasing business between two countries, possible cooperation in the reconstruction of Ukraine, as well collaboration opportunities in areas such as green energy, development cooperation, combating hybrid threats and strengthening the societal resilience.

At the World Climate Action Summit in Dubai on 2nd December, President Ursula von der Leyen launched the Global Pledge on Renewables and Energy Efficiency together with the COP28 Presidency and 118 countries.

On Monday, President Gitanas Nausėda received letters of credence from Romanian Ambassador Adriana Octavia Ciamba, Armenian Ambassador Ara Margarian, and Mexican Ambassador Alejandro Alday.

On November 30–December 4 Minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas conducted a visit to the United States of America where he took part in the Reagan National Defence Forum. Minister discussed key challenges to global security agenda alongside top U.S. security and defence officials.

On Saturday, President Gitanas Nausėda met with the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah el-Sissi, on the sidelines of COP28 in Dubai.

President Gitanas Nausėda is participating in the World Climate Action Summit at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. The President was the first EU leader to address the world’s leaders during the plenary session.
