On Thursday, the European Parliament adopted two resolutions on the respect for human rights in Afghanistan and Venezuela.

President Gitanas Nausėda is paying a working visit to Paris. On Tuesday, the Lithuanian leader met with French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss support for Ukraine, European security, strengthening the defense industry, and bilateral cooperation.

At the beginning of her working visit to Bucharest on Tuesday, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė discussed regional security issues, assistance to Ukraine and bilateral Lithuanian-Romanian relations with the Head of the Government of Romania, Ion-Marcel Ciolac. The meeting also focused on Ukraine's grain exports, the development of infrastructure projects and renewable energy.

Lithuania will join the Czech-led multilateral initiative to procure and transfer ammunition to Ukraine, Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė confirmed on Monday in a telephone conversation with the Head of the Government of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala.

On March 3–6 Minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas will be conducting a formal visit to Washington where he will meet with Secretary of Defense of the United States Lloyd Austin.

On 1 March, a virtual meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Bulgaria, Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania and Romania on the security of the Baltic and the Black Seas was held. Foreign Ministers Foreign Ministers stressed the need to join efforts to increase support for Ukraine.

On Tuesday, President Gitanas Nausėda met with the President of Malta, George Vella, who is on an official to Lithuania. The meeting focused on bilateral relations, support for Ukraine, EU enlargement, illegal migration, and the situation in the Middle East.

Monday evening, at the invitation of the President of France, President Gitanas Nausėda participated in an international conference of European leaders in Paris at the invitation of the President of France to discuss ways of strengthening support for Ukraine.

On 23 February, the European Union adopted the 13th package of individual and economic sanctions against Russia.

On Friday, President Gitanas Nausėda extended congratulations to Emperor Naruhito of Japan on his birthday and Japan’s national holiday.
