President Gitanas Nausėda received letters of credence from Ambassador Paul Ballantyne of New Zealand and Ambassador Fernando Acosta Díaz of the Republic of Paraguay on Wednesday.

On 27 March in Vilnius, during bilateral political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania and Moldova, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Julius Pranevičius, and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova Carolina Perebinos discussed the countries‘ political and economic cooperation, Lithuania’s support to Moldova, issues related to Moldova’s accession to the European Union, regional security matters, and cooperation in international organisations.

President Gitanas Nausėda expressed his condolences over the tragic loss of three United States soldiers during a U.S.-led training exercise in the Švenčionys district of Lithuania. The President extended his heartfelt sympathies to U.S. President Donald Trump, the families and friends of those who lost their lives, their fellow service members, and the entire American nation. Gitanas Nausėda stressed that the search and rescue operation will continue until the fourth missing U.S. soldier from the exercise is found.

President Gitanas Nausėda is travelling to Paris to participate in a meeting of the ‘coalition of the willing’ on support and security guarantees for Ukraine on Thursday.

On March 24-25 Minister of National Defence is conducting a visit to the United Kingdom. She will meet with Secretary of State for Defence John Healey, Chair of the Defence Committee of the Parliament Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi and other British MPs.

Addressing the European Council on Thursday, President Gitanas Nausėda stressed the need to bolster Europe’s defense.

On 17 March in Brussels, Lithuania's Minister of Foreign Affairs Kęstutis Budrys met with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. They discussed preparations for the NATO summit in The Hague, increasing military support for Ukraine, European security challenges, and the need for NATO allies to increase defence spending.

On March 19-20 Minister of National Defence Dovilė Šakalienė is conducting a visit to Finland. She is planned to meet with Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen, Chairman of the Defence Committee Parliament of Finland Jukka Kopra, and representatives of Finland’s defence industry and visit the Jaeger Brigade.

On 13 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys, met with the Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) Ambassadors to Lithuania. They discussed cooperation between the Nordic and Baltic states, the security situation in the region, and support for Ukraine.
