Ministers are holding a series of meetings in parliamentary committees to present the priorities of the Spanish Presidency of the Council.

On 25 October, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Gabrielius Landsbergis met with Foreign Minister Bùi Thanh Sơn during a working visit to Vietnam. At the meeting, Landsbergis noted that Vietnam was one of the main like-minded countries in the Indo-Pacific region, so Lithuania was pleased to see a wide opening of the reciprocal gateway between the European Union and Asia.

The EU is now launching an EU Humanitarian Air Bridge operation consisting of several flights to Egypt to bring lifesaving supplies to humanitarian organisations on the ground in Gaza.

In a vote on last Tuesday, Parliament improved and endorsed a proposal for a €50 billion facility to support Ukraine’s recovery, reconstruction and modernisation from 2024.

The meeting focused on bilateral relations between Lithuania and India and regional security issues, especially India’s leadership during the G20 summit.
