On Wednesday, President Gitanas Nausėda met with President Salome Zourabichvili of Georgia. The two leaders discussed Georgia’s prospects for European integration, its progress in implementing reforms and the European Commission’s recommendations, and the security situation in the region.

On Wednesday, MEPs approved nearly €455 million in EU Solidarity Fund aid in response to recent natural disasters in Romania, Italy and Türkiye.

On Wednesday, President Gitanas Nausėda addressed the high-level open debates of the UN Security Council on Ukraine in New York.

The European Commission is proposing today to further extend the temporary protection for people fleeing Russia's aggression against Ukraine from 4 March 2024 to 3 March 2025. This will provide certainty and support for more than 4 million persons enjoying protection across the EU.

President Gitanas Nausėda, together with the Presidents of Latvia and Estonia, met with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres on the margins of the UN General Assembly. The meeting focused on the role of the UN in providing support for Ukraine in its fight against the aggressor, accountability for war crimes and the crime of aggression, and Ukraine’s grain exports.

Last Thursday, the European Parliament adopted three resolutions on the human rights situations in Guatemala, Azerbaijan and Bangladesh.

On Thursday, President Gitanas Nausėda met with Prime Minister Han Duck-soo of South Korea at Krynica Forum.

On Wednesday, President Gitanas Nausėda met with President Andrzej Duda of Poland at the Security and Economic Forum in Krynica.

On September 13, President Gitanas Nausėda is leaving for Poland, where he will participate in the annual Krynica Forum.
