On 8 April, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Neris Germanas participated in an informal meeting via videoconference of Foreign Affairs Ministers to discuss ways to support developing countries in the fight against the pandemic, as well as to mitigate economic and social shocks to these countries.

Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis sent a letter to Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki and Chairman of the Law and Justice Party Jarosław Kaczyński, in which he expressed strong support and solidarity with Poland on behalf of the Government and the Lithuanian people while commemorating the 80th anniversary of the bloody Katyn massacre and the 10th anniversary of the Smolensk disaster.

In consideration of the requests for assistance of the Italian Republic and the Kingdom of Spain dated 30 March 2020, and to contribute to the elimination of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been decided to allocate EUR 100 000 from the reserve of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania for the humanitarian aid to Italy and Spain.

On 3 April, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius took part in the second video conference of the European Union's Foreign Affairs Ministers to discuss international aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic, with a particular focus on consular coordination and repatriation, strengthening international cooperation and assistance.

Seeking to facilitate the daily lives of people in self-isolation due to the coronavirus, a mobile app Quarantine has been developed and launched. The app will benefit not only those who are obliged to stay in quarantine and isolate themselves at home, but also everyone who cares about their own health and the health of those around them.

Security environment changed significantly over the years, and the Alliance along with it, while Lithuania acquired a position of a full-fledged and reliable ally. Last year we and other allies celebrated the 70th anniversary of NATO.
