Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis has met with incoming ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Matthias Peter Sonn and has discussed cooperation in the fields of security, economy and historic remembrance.

On January 16 Minister of National Defence of Lithuania Raimundas Karoblis and Minister of Defence and Deputy Prime Minister of Latvia Artis Pabriks discussed over a working lunch topical aspects of security from bilateral and regional point of view, and their countries’ objective to ensure constant exchange of information concerning changes in the security situation.

The Legal Affairs Committee confirmed on Thursday Parliament’s negotiating position on a new bill introducing EU-wide rules on collective redress.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius congratulated his Austrian counterpart Alexander Schallenberg on the appointment as Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs. L. Linkevičius wished him strength and success in fulfilling his responsibilities, and in encountering new challenges at work.
