On November 21, during the meeting with President Andrzej Duda of Poland, President Gitanas Nausėda highlighted the intensified relations between Lithuania and Poland. President Nausėda called Poland a reliable and likeminded partner on many issues of international agenda, security and defense, economy, energy security, nuclear safety and infrastructure projects.

On November 19–20 Minister of National Defence Raimundas Karoblis and Defence Policy Director Robertas Šapronas are taking part in the Nordic-Baltic (NB8) and Northern Group Defence Ministers meeting in Stockholm (Sweden). The Ministers discussed the security situation in the North and the Baltic Sea regions, Nordic-Baltic Cooperation, and strengthening the regional cooperation between NATO and NATO partners.

MEPs have fought for and obtained better support for climate action, research, SMEs and the young in next year’s EU budget, after a second round of talks with Council on Monday.

On 14 November, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius met with the first Ambassador of Bahrain to Lithuania, who resides in Paris, Muhammad Abdul Ghaffar. The meeting discussed bilateral cooperation and security in the Middle East.

MEPs on Thursday voted on measures specifying how large online platforms are to contribute to closing loopholes that hinder the collection of VAT.

President Gitanas Nausėda met with Darius Jauniškis, Director of the State Security Department, who informed the President that two Lithuanian citizens – Jevgenij Mataitis and Arstidas Tamošaitis – who were imprisoned in Russia were successfully returned to Lithuania and were on their way back to their families.

President Gitanas Nausėda received letters of credence from Ambassador Najeeb Al-Bader of Kuwait, Ambassador Muhammad Abdul Ghaffar of Bahrein and Ambassador Budimir Šegrt of Montenegro.

On 11 November, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius attended the Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels. The meeting focused on regional security in the Gulf and the situation in Afghanistan.
