PoliticsThe fate of the new European Commission led by Jean-Claude Juncker will be decided on Wednesday 22 October when MEPs will be asked to either approve or reject it. However, there will still be two additional hearings before that decision can be taken. Violeta Bulc, commissioner-designate for transport, and Maroš Šefčovič, proposed as Commission vice-president for the energy union, will be questioned on Monday following a reshuffle of the portfolios. 'I came to Vilnius in order to update my information on the situation of national minorities in Lithuania,' stated Veronika Kristkova, legal expert of the Office of the High Commissioner on National Minorities of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), during the meeting with the parliamentary EAPL faction in Vilnius. The introduction of euro is the most important topic in Lithuania these days. Therefore the Council of the Vilnius District Self-government has approved 12 drafts regarding converting services' prices from litas to euro. The constituent meeting of the European Parliament Delegation for relations with Belarus took place on 13th October.
