President Dalia Grybauskaitė met with members of the Danish Defence Committee at the Danish Parliament (Folketing) and members of the Danish delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. The meeting focused on security situation in the region and Lithuanian-Danish cooperation in defense and other spheres.

The European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI) must focus on currently underfunded areas, so as to complement, not duplicate, other EU budget tools, said MEPs at Monday's expert hearing on the Juncker investment plan proposals. The hearing was held by the Budgets and Economic and Monetary Affairs committees with a view to shaping legislation for the investment plan.

On 27 February 2015, the Seimas Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Committee on European Affairs organised an international conference, Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership: Free Trade from Alaska to Baltic States.

There was a fierce fight going on between Artūras Zuokas and Valdemar Tomaševski about who will take part in the second round of the elections of the Mayor of Vilnius City. It was already known, that Rimantas Šimašius, who received the most votes in Vilnius, will take part in the second round.

The mayors of two Lithuanian districts, namely Vilnius and Šalčininkai, can already be announced. Marija Rekst was elected to be the Mayor of Vilnius district once again. Zdzislav Palevič became the Mayor of Šalčininkai district. It is also another term for him as the Mayor of the district.

President Dalia Grybauskaitė, currently on a working visit to Chile, is attending the high-level event "Women in Power and Decision-Making: Building a Different World" organized by the Government of Chile in collaboration with UN Women. At the event, the President who is also Chair of the Council of Women World Leaders delivered a keynote presentation on women's participation in politics and state governance and shared Lithuania's experience in this sphere.

President Dalia Grybauskaitė during her working visit to Chile met with Chilean President Michelle Bachelet. The meeting focused on economic and cultural cooperation between Lithuania and Chile, bilateral relations, and collaboration in international organizations.

On 24 February 2015, the Seimas Committee on Foreign Affairs held a meeting with Lithuania's representatives employed in the institutions of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). The meeting was focused on the situation in Ukraine as well as on EU missions and their activities aimed at contributing to the resolution of the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The meeting was attended by Rasa Ostrauskaitė, Deputy Director of the OSCE Conflict Prevention Centre; Ambassador Vaidotas Verba, OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine; Ambassador Giedrius Čekuolis, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Lithuania to the international organisations in Vienna; Chairs and Members of the Seimas Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Seimas Committee on European Affairs, as well as the Head and Members of the Seimas Delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.

President Dalia Grybauskaitė, chair of the Council of Women World Leaders, has left for a working visit to Santiago, Chile. On February 27-28, she will attend a high-level event "Women in Power and Decision-Making: Building a Different World". The Lithuanian President has been invited to this event by President Michelle Bachelet of Chile and the United Nations.

On the basis of the decision made by the State Defence Council on February 24 Minister of National Defence Juozas Olekas assigned to the Chief of Defence to begin preparations for draft to the compulsory basic military service.
