Lithuanian laser manufacturers had a successful year in 2015, marked by sales growth, huge orders and prestigious awards, LRT Television's news program Panorama reported on Thursday evening.

Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) is mentioned in the Annual Report 2015 of Azerbaijan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. KTU is names as one of distinguished overseas universities, which are collaborating with Azerbaijani institutions of higher education.

The Christmas of Books campaign initiated by President Dalia Grybauskaitė has brought together the whole country and helped collect 50 thousand new books for public and school libraries.

New measures to strengthen and boost funding for an EU scheme to provide fruit, vegetables and milk products in schools were backed by the agriculture committee on Monday. They put more emphasis on educating children in healthy eating, increase the budget and merge into one the current separate schemes for milk and fruit in schools.

Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) pays great importance to the cooperation with business, public enterprises and state institutions. Recently, the Department of Statistics (Statistics Lithuania) has become the partner of VGTU. On 5 January, both institutions signed a cooperation agreement.

A State Knowledge Center is about to be completed at the Lithuanian President's Office – it will hold exhibitions, educational and civil education events, host expositions about Lithuania and operations of governmental institutions.

On December 11, a Letter of Intent on the development of the LNG cluster was signed at Klaipėda University by the heads of Klaipėda University, Klaipėda Science and Technology Park, SC Klaipėdos Nafta (Klaipėda Oil) and SC Western Shipyard. The cluster is expected to bring together the research and business potential for collaboration in the fields of energy, education and science, and business.

More than a half of European Humanities University (EHU) graduates returned to Belarus, and the majority of them are employed in areas that are related to the education received at EHU. These and other positive trends were identified during the survey, conducted among EHU Alumni.
