Nora Šlekienė, PhD student of Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences has won the competition for an internship at European Space Agency (ESA). The student will be awarded more than 32 thousand euros funding for a year's internship. On 16 February the Minister of Education, Culture and Science, Jet Bussemaker, will open 'Skills for a Lifetime', a conference focusing on the future of vocational education and training. Experts, teachers, business people and policy makers from all EU member states will meet to discuss the challenges faced by Europe's knowledge society. On February 10th, European Humanities University (EHU) and Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) signed a long-term strategic partnership agreement, aiming at enhancement of cooperation between two universities. May 10th, 2016, is the deadline to register for the international Summer School, "Science and the Art of Communication," which will be held at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) June 27th-July 3rd, 2016. Vilnius University will honour two outstanding personalities – professor MICHAEL SHUR (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, USA) and the great politician JÓN BALDVIN HANNIBALSSON (Iceland) by awarding them with a degree of Doctor Honoris Causa. Winners of six Lithuanian Science Prizes were announced in Vilnius on February 8th, 2016.
