EconomySignificant changes are bound to happen in Lithuania's energy market in 2016: new interconnections with Poland and Sweden will be launched, electricity generation quotas for combined heat and power plants will be cancelled and a more favourable to consumers gas supply security financing model should enter into force. The retail turnover (including VAT) of the Apranga Group reached EUR 15.8 million in June 2015, and has increased by 8% in comparison to June 2014. During June 2015, state company Klaipedos nafta reloaded 634 thousand tons of petroleum products into its storage tanks of Klaipeda oil terminal and Subacius fuel base (SFB), i.e. greater by 56.9% compared to June 2014, when 404 thousand tons were reloaded, the Company said in a statement. Rimantas Sinkevicius, Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania, met with the government officials and representatives of the biggest transport, logistics, infrastructure construction and rolling production companies from the province of Xinjiang. Statistics Lithuania informs that, based on provisional data, in May 2015, the turnover (VAT excluded) of retail trade enterprises* amounted to EUR 745.8 million; against April 2015, it increased by 1.4% at constant prices (seasonally adjusted – decreased by 1.2%). Except for the drop recorded in 2009 following the financial crisis, the value of European Union (EU) imports of goods from China has significantly increased over the last decade, from EUR 129.2 bln. in 2004 to a peak of EUR 302.5 bln. in 2014. The €315-billion "Juncker" investment plan, announced by the European Commission last November to encourage the financing of viable investments in Europe, was backed by the European Parliament in a vote on Wednesday. Parliament modified its financing structure, won a say in selecting its leadership and ensured more democratic oversight in negotiations with the Council. In 2015, from Lithuania and Poland will have 500 additional permits for international carriage of goods by road from and to the third countries. This was agreed at the Lithuanian-Polish Joint Committee meeting on International Road Transport issues, Lithuania's Ministry of Transport and Communications reports. Lithuania's Klaipedos Nafta AB and BNK (UK) Limited which is an affiliate of the leading exporter of Belarusian oil products - ZAT Belaruskaja Neftenaja Kampanija, has signed a long term contract on provision of oil products reloading services in Klaipedos Nafta terminal. Statistics Lithuania reports that, based on final data obtained from customs declarations, Intrastat reporting and VAT returns data, exports in 2014 amounted to EUR 24.4 bln. (LTL 84.1 bln.), imports - EUR 25.9 bln. (LTL 89.4 bln.). |
