In June 2015, Klaipeda Seaport reported about the largest vessel ever entering the Seaport within the entire period of its history – it was the 324.8 meter-long container ship MSC Charleston. However, after a couple of months this record has been improved – on 9 August Klaipeda Seaport received the 336.68 metres in length and 45.60 metres in breadth containership MSC ASYA. The Ministry of Economy in Lithuania has evaluated the effects of legal amendments undertaken by Lithuanian institutions in the second half of 2014 and provided an estimate that administrative burden on business decreased by EUR 1.85 million as a result. In the first half of the year 2015, the number of Lux Express passengers in the Baltic States increased 11.1% from the respective period last year. Statistics Lithuania informs that, based on non-final data obtained from customs declarations, Intrastat reporting and VAT returns data, exports in June 2015 amounted to EUR 2 billion, imports – EUR 2.3 billion. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin amounted to EUR 1.1 billion. The foreign trade deficit of Lithuania amounted to EUR 0.3 billion. |
