EconomyIn July 2015, Lithuania's state company Klaipedos Nafta reloaded 549,000 tons of petroleum products into its storage tanks of Klaipeda oil terminal and Subacius fuel base (SFB), i.e. 3.8% more compared to July 2014, when 529,000 tons were reloaded, the company said in a statement. The turnover of Klaipedos Smelte Container terminal in July was 12.501 TEU. The private holding company Vilniaus Prekyba UAB, one of the largest Lithuanian groups of private companies, which, among others, controls the international retail chain Maxima, firmly refutes any media reports on tax evasions conducted both in Lithuania and any other foreign country where the group's companies operate. In the first half of the year 2015, the consolidated turnover of Maxima Grupe rose 2.6%, as compared with the respective period last year, reaching EUR 1.28 billion not counting value added tax. During the first half year of 2015, the sales of the textile company Utenos Trikotazas AB amounted to EUR 7 million and were 2.0% higher compared to the same period of 2014. The unaudited consolidated profit before income tax of Apranga Group amounted to EUR 3.2 million in the second quarter of 2015, comparing to EUR 2.8 million in Q2 of 2014, the increase of 12.6%. Klaipedos Nafta, the operator of the Klaipeda Oil Terminal based in Klaipeda, is planning to invest around EUR 9.5 million in the expansion of the oil terminal's infrastructure, while investment in a new over ground liquefied natural gas (LNG) distribution station investment project will seek EUR 27 million. Statistics Lithuania in its annual publication Structural Business Statistics Indicators 2013 reports that back in 2013, there were about 183,000 active enterprises in the country, which employed about 935,000 people. Over the year, the number of enterprises increased by 9.2%, the number of persons employed in them – by 4.3%. These amendments will allow the private sector to initiate project preparation and tender procedures by submitting an unsolicited proposal. Statistics Lithuania informs that in June 2015, compared to May, construction input prices increased by 0.5%. The change was mainly influenced by a 1.5% increase in wages and salaries.
