At the Malmö International Forum on Holocaust Remembrance and Combating Antisemitism held on Wednesday, President Gitanas Nausėda called for educating the younger generation and resisting hate speech and attempts to distort history.

President Gitanas Nausėda continues his participation at the European Council in Slovenia. On the second day, a meeting between the EU and the Western Balkan leaders took place to take stock of the progress in the implementation of political and economic Euro-integration reforms and ensuring security and stability in the region by the Western Balkans countries.

President Gitanas Nausėda is attending the informal meeting of the European Council in Slovenia on 5-6 October. The first day session is dedicated to the EU’s role in the world, in particular, to discussions on relations with China and the U.S.

While the European Commission is currently working on an update of the EU’s Arctic policy, MEPs are concerned about emerging threats to stability in the area.

On Thursday, President Gitanas Nausėda met with Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark who is visiting Lithuania as the two countries celebrate the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 30th anniversary of their reestablishment.

On Wednesday, President Gitanas Nausėda participated in a remote preparatory meeting for the European Council with European Council President Charles Michel. Taking part in the meeting were also representatives from Slovenia, Croatia, Finland, Slovakia, and Greece.

On Tuesday, President Gitanas Nausėda received letters of credence from Ambassador Alix Everard of France, Ambassador Olivier Jean-Patrick Nduhungirehe of Rwanda, and Ambassador Selver Ahmed Halil of Bulgaria.
