On May 18, in Baku, President Gitanas Nausėda will meet with President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan to discuss bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy and economy, the security situation in the Caucasus region, and cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union. He will also participate in the Lithuania-Azerbaijan Business Forum. The President will meet with Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov, the Lithuanian community of Baku, and lay a wreath at Martyrs' Lane for the victims of Black January 1990.
On May 19-20, in Yerevan, President Gitanas Nausėda will meet with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Speaker of Parliament Alen Simonyan. The meetings will focus on the security situation in the Caucasus region, democratic reforms in Armenia, EU-Armenia cooperation in the Eastern Partnership format, as well as bilateral relations between Lithuania and Armenia. The President will also meet with Catholicos Karekin II, members of the local Lithuanian community, and lay a wreath for the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
First Lady Diana Nausėdienė will accompany President Nausėda to Armenia and Azerbaijan. She will meet with the spouses of Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders and participate in the presentation of social and cultural projects.
