“I am pleased that during your first presidential term, bilateral relations between Lithuania and France have been consistently improving. I appreciate that over the recent years we have had the opportunity to meet on several occasions and to discuss security, political and economic issues of common interest to our countries. I am ready to continue our excellent cooperation at the European Union and NATO level, as well as in mobilizing support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression,” the President wrote in his message of congratulation.
The President assured the French leader that he would place special emphasis on bilateral dialogue between Lithuania and France, on implementation of the strategic partnership action plan approved in 2020, on intensifying cooperation in the fields of renewable energy, cybersecurity and democratic values, as well as on boosting trade and investment.
“The events that we have planned for the Lithuanian Year of Culture in France 2024 will also contribute to fostering cultural cooperation and strengthening people-to-people contacts between our countries,” the President underlined.
Gitanas Nausėda extended his sincere congratulations to the re-elected President of France and wished him every success in continuing the work he had begun for the good of his country and its people.
