As the crisis in Yemen continues to worsen, the European Union has pledged €107.5 million in new funding for 2018 to help civilians most in need across the country.

The European Commission is proposing to make cross-border payments in euro cheaper across the entire EU. Under current rules, there is no difference for euro area residents or businesses if they carry out euro transactions in their own country or with another euro area Member State.

On 26 March in Bucharest, Romania, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius met with the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodor Meleşcanu and discussed opportunities for strengthening bilateral cooperation, important items on the EU, NATO agenda, as well as situations in Eastern Europe and the Western Balkans.

The interlocuters also welcomed the close bilateral cooperation.
