President Dalia Grybauskaitė met with the American-Lithuanian Business Council in the run-up to the U.S.-Baltic States summit meeting scheduled for April in Washington. The President and the American businesspeople discussed avenues for larger American investments in Lithuania and closer business cooperation in a number of areas, including innovation, defense, industry and energy.

Significant political, security and development support were mobilised today for Africa's Sahel region.

President Dalia Grybauskaitė received letters of credence from Ambassador Shen Zhifei of the People’s Republic of China.

On 21 February, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius met with the new Ambassador of Nepal to Lithuania Yuba Nath Lamsal, who resides in Copenhagen. On the same day, the Ambassador handed over his letters of credence to the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė.

During the working visit to Spain on 19 February, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius met with the Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Alfonso María Dastis Quecedo. The Foreign Ministers positively assessed the developments in bilateral relations between Lithuania and Spain. The meeting focused on the key issues of security, cooperation within the European Union and NATO, and the European Neighbourhood.

President Dalia Grybauskaitė will attend a summit meeting of the Baltic countries and the United States scheduled for April 3 in Washington.

On 17 February, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius congratulated Kosovo on the 10th anniversary of its independence.

On 15-16 February, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Neris Germanas participated in an informal meeting of foreign affairs ministers (Gymnich) in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. Foreign ministers discussed Syria, the Western Balkans, North Korea, security and defence issues.

The European Commission has concluded the certificates schemes for renewable electricity and high-efficiency cogeneration implemented in Flanders (Belgium) to be in line with EU State aid rules. The two schemes contribute to reaching EU energy and climate goals whilst preserving competition.

President Dalia Grybauskaitė had a bilateral meeting with President Guðni Thorlacius Jóhannesson of Iceland, who is attending festive events of the centennial of the restoration of the state of Lithuania in Vilnius.
