Anušauskas discussed regional security threats in Latvia: “NATO has to maintain situational awareness”2021-04-26, 12:46On April 23 Minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas paid a visit to Riga where he met with his Latvian counterpart, Minister of Defence Artis Pabriks. The Ministers discussed the Baltic cooperation and coordination of actions in NATO and EU formats. When addressing regional security, they discussed the Russian provocations on the Ukrainian border and in the annexed Crimea, and the strategic partnership of Russia and Belarus. MEPs will vote on EU investment programmes, future EU-UK relations and plans for a Digital Green Certificate during the plenary session on 26-29 April. The new EU Climate Law increases the EU’s 2030 emissions reductions target from 40% to at least 55% while boosting the contribution from removals that can bring the target to 57%.
