Mykolas Romeris University and Fintech Business Cluster BCCS have signed a memorandum of cooperation to promote innovation, product, service and other solutions development and integration into international markets.

For the very first time, the annual Times Higher Education’s (THE) rankings by subject recognised Vilnius University (VU) in the field of education. The University achieved a better score in health sciences and maintained its positions in most other subjects.

The six-month-long World Expo 2020 taking place a year later, began in October and has already attracted millions of visitors from all over the world. Among the almost 200 participating countries is Lithuania, which exhibition focuses on sustainability. In World Expo 2020, the Lithuanian Pavilion features the invention of researchers from the KTU Faculty Chemical Technology, which helped achieve a global record for the efficiency of tandem solar cells.

Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH) joined the project „Pilot courses in Practice Enterprise to implement the University-Enterprise Cooperation for the development of Caspian Area (PICASP)“. During the project will be developed and disseminated the new training methodologies, including company practices and MOOCs.

A team of KTU School of Economics and Business students became the Europe Regional Winners of the Global Online Marketing Academic Challenge GOMAC 2021. For the competition, the students presented a digital marketing campaign for KIKA the most popular retail chain of pet goods in Lithuania.

Forests are the basis of the country's ecological stability, which is extremely important not only for the air, water and soil quality of the whole country but also for the Lithuanian identity. However, deforestation caused by intensive forestry and low restriction levels of human economic activity is already visible to the naked eye. According to Vilnius University (VU) geographers, the current wood-oriented forest policy needs to be changed. In order to preserve Lithuania's ecological stability, it is important to consider the ecological and social benefits of forests as a priority condition of public welfare, and forest issues cannot be solved within the framework of forestry alone.

For more than a decade, the European Union (EU) has been requiring to provide energy performance certificates (EPCs) when buildings are built, sold or rented. Buildings are rated on a scale from G to A++, which indicates their energy performance and additionally provides information on how much it will cost to insulate and maintain a building. Starting from 2021, new buildings must be designed to meet the highest standard of A++ . However, according to researchers at KTU’s Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture (FCEA), this system needs to be improved to take into account changes in the construction sector and to harmonize systems across the EU.
