The main application period for Erasmus+ studies abroad has ended. Until the 6th of March, students from all VILNIUS TECH study cycles had the opportunity to submit the Erasmus+ application for studies in the EU and outside Europe. 230 students applied to study abroad in the autumn or spring semesters 2022-2023.

Lithuanian researchers from Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) improved an algorithm that detects Alzheimer’s disease from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images. The new model achieved over 98 per cent accuracy on a test dataset in detecting the neurodegenerative disease by improving a neural network model.

Fourteen nominees for the European Union (EU) Prize for Literature were announced in Brussels on Monday. This year, Lithuania is nominating a writer, historian, and lecturer at the Faculty of History of Vilnius University (VU), Assoc. dr. Tomas Vaiseta for the novel "Ch.". The Lithuanian Institute of Culture appointed the work to the prize following the change in the award procedure.

The architectural heritage from the Modern Movement era has been more endangered in recent decades than this from any other period in history. As many people do not perceive the interwar period architecture as heritage, this results in demolished buildings and other damage. Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) researcher, architect Huriye Armağan Doğan proposes a novel approach based on eye-tracking technology to determine which architectural characteristics or features influences the perception of certain objects as cultural heritage.

Kaunas Faculty of Vilnius University, considering the increasing need for cybersecurity competencies and information literacy in our country, will, for the second time in a row, host the international cyber security competition VU Cyberthon on 17-18 February.
