Beatričė Raščiūtė, a lecturer at Vilnius University’s Internal diseases, family medicine and oncology clinic and a resident of emergency medicine, says that she chose this field for its variety and unexpectedness. Raščiūtė and her colleagues participated in an international conference about the biomarkers, where they were awarded the second place in the best poster group.

On the occasion of the 6th meeting of the Arqus Rectors’ Council, the announcement about the Arqus Alliance expansion was made, adding two new members to the Alliance: the universities of Minho in northern Portugal and Wroclaw in the north of Poland. The Agency for Science, Innovation and Technology (MITA) and Vilnius University (VU) invite startup teams and those with innovative ideas to register for the “TechHub” pre-accelerator. The fifth cohort of the program will begin in February. During the program, selected startups will participate in a three-month training course, develop their ideas, meet investors and gain business development knowledge.

On 20 December, the Chancellor of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Inga Černiuk visited Vilnius University (VU). During the meeting with VU Rector Prof. Rimvydas Petrauskas, the Chancellor signed a cooperation agreement aimed at more active collaboration between the university academic community and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the implementation of Lithuanian foreign policy.
