Can you combine the sustainability topic, learning new languages and change of perspective on Europe? Participation in the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive programme (BIP) “Green cities” did just that: students from three ECIU member universities worked together online and onsite in Kaunas, to improve their German language skills and brainstorm ideas on how to make our cities green.

To find new and more effective ways of determining a patient’s oral health, researchers in the field of dentistry and data science at Vilnius University (VU) are developing an instrument that analyses panoramic images of a patient’s mouth and automatically provides a tooth decay risk assessment.

On May 6th, VILNIUS TECH officially inaugurated professor Romualdas Kliukas as the university’s Rector. In his inaugural address, the Rector emphasized the importance of the university for the progress and development of the state and the growing influence of technology in science, business, society, and in the daily life. “We are already one of the most important scientific institutions in the country, every day we help to overcome the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution not only for traditional Lithuanian industry, but also for emerging creative industries or space companies,” said the Rector.

ECIU University Days 2022 was the first on-site post-pandemic cycle of events of ECIU University where students and the community could learn more about ECIU University activities. The participants could try challenge-based learning (CBL) in a workshop and listen to the experiences of working in international teams.

Vilnius University (VU) is the best university in Lithuania. This was announced for the eighth time by the National Ranking of Education and Higher Education Institutions, which is published annually by the magazine "Reitingai". This year, VU scored 71.89 points out of 100 possible. The University scored the highest employers rating, and VU alumni enjoy the biggest demand in the labour market.

On 5 May, at a ceremony held at Vilnius Town Hall, the traditions being added to the Lithuanian Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage were presented and certificates were awarded. This year, the list of traditions that have been passed down from one generation to the next was enriched by FiDi – Physicist’s Day – a celebration of students in the Faculty of Physics at Vilnius University.

On Wednesday, April 27, 2022, Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) THE Impacts Rankings 2022 were announced. For the first time, KTU was included in these rankings by the international university rating agency Times Higher Education, which ranks the world universities’ actions directed towards achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
