The Biomedicine Future Foundation has signed a €1 million support agreement with Vilnius University (VU) Foundation. The funding is earmarked for the chrono-epigenomics programme at the Institute of Biotechnology at the VU Life Sciences Centre (LSC). Chrono-epigenomics is a new field of biomedical research that seeks to understand the general patterns of body development, ageing, and disease onset.

On 6-8 October, the Faculty of Chemistry and Geosciences of Vilnius University is organizing an international scientific conference "Functional Inorganic Materials", where chemists, physicists, technologists and materials scientists from Lithuania, Poland, Italy, Denmark, Japan and other countries will share their achievements and experience.

On September 19, the delegation from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) visited Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH) to discuss cooperation opportunities. The delegation also included representatives of the world famous Taiwanese electronics manufacturing company Delta.

Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) applied chemistry student Meda Surdokaitė won the first prize at the European Union Young Scientists Competition in the Netherlands on Saturday. The news was released by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, and published by lrt.lt.

This year marks the fourth time Vilnius University (VU) Press is choosing the most read books and scholarly periodicals published by the publishing house. This year saw a new nomination - The Most Read Book of Vilnius University Press in Vilnius University Library.

On Monday, Political Deputy Minister of Education, Dr Mon-Chi Lio, and a delegation of Taiwanese universities visited Lithuania. Taiwanese representatives came to Vilnius University (VU), meeting with the Lithuanian University Rectors' Conference (LURK) delegates and discussing future cooperation.

On September 15 and 16, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH) hosted the 13th international scientific conference "Transbaltica 2022: Transportation Science and Technology", which was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania, the Association of Transport Innovations, and the international publisher Springer Nature AG. The extensive programme offered participants from all over the world an opportunity to engage in discussions about the most important issues in transportation.

On 16 September, at the celebration of the anniversary of the Magna Charta Universitatum (MCU) at the University of Bologna in Italy, the Rector of Mykolas Romeris University (MRU), Prof. Dr. Inga Žalėnienė, together with other signatories of the document, signed a new version of the document - MCU 2020.

What sort of a country would we like to live in three decades from now?
