VU Invites to Participate in Intro Days and Events at #Studentauk 2022.

In cases of advanced laryngeal cancer, a complex surgery called laryngectomy is performed, when the organ vital for a person’s ability to speak is removed. Striving to improve the patient’s quality of life after laryngectomy, a team of software engineers from KTU, led by researcher Rytis Maskeliūnas, and a team of medics from LSMU, led by prof. Virgilijus Ulozas, conducted a study, during which they searched for pathologies in patients’ voices using artificial intelligence (AI).

As the admissions to Vilnius University have begun and the start of the academic year is approaching, Vilnius University Students' Representation (VU SR) invites the members of the VU community to help the Ukrainian students fleeing from the unprecedented war that violates all international rights and who are temporarily building their future at Vilnius University by providing them with free accommodation - a free room, a part of the house, a free apartment, a place suitable for living in the garden or other premises.

The European Commission will support the implementation of Arqus’ strategic path towards a truly European University. Following the launch of a renewed Arqus Mission Statement for the next 10 years, Arqus submitted last March a proposal for receiving support from the Erasmus Plus Programme for its 2022-2026 Work Plan. Today, the European Commission has announced the results of the competitive call, where Arqus has been successfully selected.

Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) graduate of the English for Specific Purposes and a Second Foreign Language (Korean) programme Avigėja Novikovienė started off her career at the University upon graduating.

Students returning to the KTU campus in autumn will be able to enjoy the modernised university spaces. This year, the new student information centre and a multifunctional centre with an integrated library opened their doors, and the end of the renovation of the twelve-story dormitory is within reach.

A research paper by the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration's Senior Research Fellow L. D. Hollebeek and co-authors has been published in the top (AJG 4*) level scientific Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science. It is the second publication of this level in the Faculty's history.

For the last year Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) Communication Institute Lecturer Dr. Isabel Palomo Dominguez from Spain has been living with her husband and two young children in Vilnius. She says that despite the cold weather during winter months, she has discovered that Lithuanians are warm-hearted. She has found a new job at MRU, new friends and learned how to make the famous cold beet soup “šaltibarščiai“, which she said her family loves. She agreed to discuss her life in Lithuania‘s capital and some of her experiences.
