Household food waste is a key factor in food waste generation globally. Therefore, municipalities are searching for new ways to encourage citizens to recycle at home. The idea, proposed by the international team of students, which encourages people to recycle, has been awarded the ECIU University Transnational Innovation Voucher (TIV) worth 5,000 EUR. The team now are developing their solution further.

“Up to 100 people per year ask about donating their body after death for the sake of medical science, but far fewer sign consent forms for body donation – usually about 30 people per year. A few years ago, we had a record year with over 60 people signing consents,” Andrejus Suchomlinovas, an assistant professor in the Department of Anatomy, Histology and Anthropology of the Faculty of Medicine of Vilnius University (VU MF), said.

A new season of FabLab training for teachers of FabLab schools in Vilnius has started at the Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH) Creativity and Innovation Centre "LinkMenu fabrikas". This season, the training is organised at two levels of progression: the "FabLab 101" cycle is for beginner teachers. At the same time, "FabLab 201" offers the advanced level for teachers who have already attended "FabLab 101".

This year, the QS World University Rankings assessed the sustainability indicators of universities for the first time. It includes the only Lithuanian higher education institution: Vilnius University (VU) is ranked 601st. Based on the social impact indicator used in the ranking, VU ranks 447th.
