Today saw an official introduction of the project Vilnius is a School (Lith. Vilnius yra mokykla), which aims to move at least 10% of lessons to urban spaces. Last year, the initiative helped Vilnius beat 600 cities around the world in Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Mayors Challenge and win one million dollars. On Friday 27 January, 7–9 p.m. (EET), a lecture titled Entrepreneurial & Academic scope of Sustainable Tourism will be hosted by the University of Alicante (UA), which is a member of the Transform4Europe European University Alliance. The lecture will be held in Alicante and online. Unmanned aerial vehicles are no longer a surprise to passers-by during events or on a sunny afternoon in the city centre. Drones, which have long been used in warfare, are now popular not only with professional and amateur filmmakers but also with researchers. In 2022, there were 1,050 global universities evaluated from 85 countries based on their contribution and impact in such areas such as science and studies, infrastructure, energy, climate change, waste management, water and transport use. Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) was the only Lithuanian university included in the "UI GreenMetric" ranking. MRU was ranked 198th among the most sustainable universities in Europe and 570th among universities worldwide. In 2022, MRU rose 127 positions higher in the world university ranking category compared to 2021. |
